Tonkawa Tribal Regalia
Women's Choker Instructions
Supplies:
8mm beads that match your breastplate
      2" bones
      1 yd of sinew
4 leather spacers (preferably already with holes)
2 foot long straps of leather

*You can make chokers with anywhere from 3 rows
to 5 rows depending on how much of your
neck you wish it to cover*

1.  Measure around your neck to determine the length of you choker.
2.  Pick out your bead pattern - look at your breastplate for a guideline.

3.  Your pattern will be:
spacer - bead pattern - bone - bead pattern - spacer

4.After finishing your choker, before you tie it off make sure that it fits and is not too big or small.
5.  To finish your choker tie off one end of the sinew and go to the other side and, just like the breastplate, pull it as tight as you can then knot it.

*I made the mistake of braiding the sinew and it
is so slick it won't stay tied when I were it.
Leather has worked out much better.*

6.  Take the leather pieces and loop them in between the sinew knot and the leather spacer and they should stay in place.
